Landscape Parks are a unique natural and cultural place defined by the local landscape and the people's sense of identity.
Local business develop within the communities making the area attractive to locals and visitors.
Landscapeparks takes care of traditions. Dissemination of local culture and telling the good story behind the landscape and the products from the park-area gives visitors a good experience. Here grows and blossoms new ways of thinking and creativity together with the landscape. The experiences are genuine and expresses the landscapeparks selfasteem and identity.
Landscape parks are living local communities. The inhabitants seek to develop their towns to be a good place to live, and a great place to visit.

About Vikebygd Landscape Park
Our area is a generous part of Hardanger.
FolgefonnaNational park tells us about a valuable nature.
Cultural multitude is wide with the medieval farmstead Agatunet as most unique.
With no stop it takes about 30 minutes to drive RV road 550 through here.
But if you stop you will be surprised how much the short drive hide
CULTURE MONUMENTS & MILIEU
- Agatunet – The Norwegian version of a European rural town - a unique farmstead incl. mill house, boathouses and summer mountain pasture. In summertime: concerts & art exhibition, guiding , small cafè
- ”Husmannsplass” = Tenant home – Nortveite near Aga, a nice walk and visit, beautiful view
- “Stølshus” = Old summer mountain pasture houses – spread along the walking routes in forest, some restored , some are ruins. You walk on your own, or with guides to experience more
- “Eldhus” = Small houses for traditional food cooking, baking and brewing – have a glimps on farm visits or in Agatunet museum, team building and courses in a few
- Cider basements – cider is a traditonal apple product in Hardanger . some farms have special basements , you may have a look and small taste when visiting fruit farms.
- Rogdo – unique farmstead where people still live and work as farmers
- Engjasete – ancient farm ruins recent found high up, probably from Bronse age , near Kvestad farm
- Soap stone mines – ancient, safe only with guidefrom Måge farm
- Sulphur mines – ancient, safe with guide in Lindvik
- Proverb walk ( Ordtak-stig , only in Norwegian), anyway a nice and easy walk between Eikhamrane ( camping) – Måge ( farm shop)
- Old time roads, original old horse roads between Nå-Reiseter, Nå-Bleie, Åkre-Skåltveit, Rogdo-Kråkevik - all are nice walking routes.
- Ice export from Folgefonna glacier Digrahaug – Skiparvik/Bleie, the story is told when visitng Skiparvikstova or Bleietunet
- Bleie-diplom;( diplom is here the old Norwegain word for an official document or charter ) the oldest saved court document in Western Norway from year 1293, includes the Bleie farms and Agatunet - guides are telling the story when visiting the Agatunet museum or Bleietunet
- Mountain track -long walk between Krossdalen in west og Reiseter/Bleie - route for drifting kettles from the farms down by the fjord to the mountain pasture area. The same route was used by for catholic pilgrims to the small stave church in Røldal ( mountain village in Odda) - the second most visited pilgrim church in Norway.
- Queen Sonja’s Streif-route 4 km tourReiseter – Nå in beautiful culture landscape – guided walks telling about our landscape and culture is possible.
- Bleietunet - fruitfarm visit - history, fruit, hard cider, food, flowers and handcrafts - we guide groups aroundwhile telling stories
- “1905-BAUTA” – Nå ; monument for Norway’s independence – visit it on your own or when following the Queen's route
- Walks in culture landscapes - orchards and other - group guides is possible
- “Fairytale forest” – telling traditional troll tales and other stories - tours for kids together with adults
- The Norwegian Land consolidation center is planned in Aga
NATURE & ACTIVITIES
- Marked walks in forested areas where on/off access points are located along the trails
- Raunsdal – hidden pearl of nature in Folgefonna national park
- Reiseter; 330 m - the uppermost active farms in Hardanger and easy entrance to the Folgefonna national park
- Digrahaug – gem of nature and historical place in the national park
- The 3 highest mountains in Folgefonn peninsula and along Hardangerfjord is ‘ours’: Rjuven 1574 m, Torsnut 1572 m og Solnuten 1551 m, only with guide !
- Nice swimming locations in the fjord: Måge, Nå, Aga - you can go anywhere possible , but these are good for kids
- Harbour for guest boats - Aga
- Rent a rowboat; by Aga hytte, Inetun /Bleie, Måge farm shop. Eikhamrane camping
- Quay: Bigger boats in Nå and Syreflot, smaller landing stages in Aga, Lindvik, Måge
- Bird watching: All along from the fjord to mountains, but special interesting along the walk between Lindvik-Gjertveit, and along Bleie river - most life to see before midsummer

- “Skredløpet” – sport- and trim race in middle of June along the forest route Aga - Reiseter, from one avalanch wall to another, and passing around 10 other avavlanch area - but at this time of the year it is safe and very beautiful route to follow
- “Skredmuren” – monumental, aesthetic concrete wall against avalanches protecting Bleie south of Reiseter
- “Rogda-tjødnane” - beautiful and only small lakes area along Sørfjorden , some north of Rogdo along the trail to Aga
- “Skredvollen” – enormous avalanche wall built in rock protecting Aga
- “Elvablomen river garden” – where the wild meets the ornamental garden along Bleie river – plants and birds to see, guided tours
- Guided tours in the Folgefonna national park from Måge and every Wednesdays from Agatunet
